Bala is delighted to offer a 200-hour yoga teacher training program led by master teacher Les Leventhal. This program is a great way to develop the skills to teach yoga or to take your personal practice to a deeper level. Les’ program meets Yoga Alliance requirements for 200-hour teacher training programs, and covers anatomy, asana, alignment, pranayama, philosophy, and sequencing. You will also assist and observe experienced teachers and learn how to observe, assess, and adjust students safely in asana poses.

Studying yoga at a deep and personal level requires a supportive and like-minded community (satsang). In our program you will study alongside other students, where you’ll share your experiences and findings in an intimate and encouraging environment. You will also develop the knowledge and skills to supercharge your own personal practice (sadhana), which will serve you for your entire life.

This training will be led by Les Leventhal, a highly experienced and much-loved teacher. Les has completed extensive training with Ana Forrest and also trains with Max Strom, Tias Little, and Seane Corn. Les teaches classes, workshops, and teacher trainings worldwide, and will provide you with all the tools you need to teach safe and effectively-sequenced classes to everyone from beginners to seasoned practitioners. This training will give you a solid grounding in philosophy, anatomy, wisdom, prenatal classes, injuries, nutrition, safe hands-on adjustments, ethics, business, and chanting. It will also help you to cultivate the courage and truth you will need to deepen your personal practice and to find your own voice as a teacher.

LES LEVENTHAL

namaste_0Yoga with Les is a vinyasa/flow yoga practice. For many years, Les was one of San Francisco’s most popular and sought-after teachers. Nowadays, he lives in Ubud, Bali, and teaches around the world. Les’ classes, workshops, and video podcasts are filled with all the basic technique and alignment cues you will need to get your yoga practice and teaching started. A long-time student of Ana Forrest, and a graduate of several of her teacher training programs, Les has also assisted Ana with teacher trainings and studied many additional hours with her. He has also completed several trainings with Tias Little, from whom he has learned many of his alignment and technique cues. Tias has also provided him with a firm foundation in the Eightfold path of Buddhism, which brings a sense of grace and elegance to his asana practice. Les’ teaching is always inclusive, never exclusive, and accessible to students of any background.

Les’ yoga teaching will give you an opportunity to heal your heart, laugh, cry, dance, and simply let go. Some classes flow freely, while others explore longer holds. Many are accompanied by music. Les always offers students the opportunity to modify poses. When you learn to take better care of yourself, you can then take better care of those around you, a ripple effect that can gradually change the world.

GUEST TEACHERS:

Dylan Bernstein, was fortunate enough to be introduced deeply to yoga asana, meditation and Eastern philosophies in 1988. These essential tools helped him negotiate the turbulent seas of his teens and twenties. Daily practice took hold, becoming the bedrock of his existence and he began teaching across the world.

He now regularly runs Mysore programs on four continents and is often a featured presenter in philosophical realms.  He has taught philosophy to yoga teachers on more than 20 trainings worldwide.

A lifelong interest in Asian philosophy, culture and poetics brought him to reside in Asia, where he has maintained his home base since 2001. He has learned immensely both by traveling widely and by living in Vietnam, India, Bali and Hong Kong.

Dylan continues to be influenced by many other teachers and diverse traditions.  Perhaps his primary inspiration has become his dynamic and inquisitive students. He is forever indebted to all the teachers, students and fellow practitioners who have helped him along the way.

Dylan has a Master’s Degree in Buddhist Studies, has been authorised to teach Ashtanga by the Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute and also holds an EYRT 500 thingy, the highest certification available from Yoga Alliance.

A student of teaching techniques, Dylan has a background in pedagogy and cognitive development.  Essentially, Dylan remains a pluralist, believing in many kinds of truth and many manners of realization.  Though entertainment is not his focus in teaching, there is always room for laughter in his classroom.

Daily asana, pranayama and inquiry continue to be the foundation of his practice and teachings. More information and writings can be explored at stillnessinaction.com
