Start the New Year with a workshop designed to balance out your busy life and eliminate stress!
The perfect solution for an often busy and stressful holiday season, this class combines restorative yoga with Yoga Nidra. Class starts with gentle and supported restorative postures which are held for several minutes (5 or more) allowing the body to release tension completely and giving the mind ample time to slow down and let go. The second part of class will be an iRest® Yoga Nidra practice. Based on the ancient teachings of meditation, iRest Yoga Nidra is an evidence-based, mind-body approach that is the result of thirty years of observation, research and development by Dr. Richard Miller and associates. We learn to relax on every level of our being, thus releasing blocks and tension from our unconscious mind. In Yoga Nidra, we use affirmation, bodysensing, subtle breathwork, as well as working with feelings, emotions and imagery. This class is quiet and introspective, with plenty of time to breathe and develop our connection to our inner knowing that is always present.
People who practice iRest Yoga Nidra report:
reduced depression, fear and anxiety
reduced insomnia and levels of stress
reduced chronic and acute pain
greater ability to relax and enjoy life
increased inner peace and well being
