Un-wind from the holidays with 3 nurturing hours of Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra hosted by the lovely Pamela Chang.
What To Expect
We will begin with a long, slow, loving Yin yoga practice. Yin Yoga is a practice of long held postures practiced with relaxed muscles. All postures are practiced on the floor. Props are used to support our bodies during this extended practice. There will be plenty of time to slowly release the spine, hips, legs and shoulders. Get ready to completely let go.
After our Yin yoga practice, Pam will lead you into the 45 minute guided Yoga Nidra meditation practice (done lying down in Savasana). Yoga Nidra or ‘yogic sleep’ is a guided meditation designed to bring the practitioner into such a deeply relaxed state that it is often experienced as “a conscious state of sleep.” The results are tremendous calmness and clarity. It has been experienced and described as “the most powerful relaxation technique known to man.” Practitioners have enough time to physiologically and psychologically sink into the deeply nourishing state in which the brain waves slow down, the nervous system unwinds and a subtle euphoria often emerges. During this time you will be guided through various visualization and body scanning techniques. Even when practitioners don’t slip into the deepest stages, they still tend to emerge feeling rejuvenated.
We invite you to come in and experience it for yourself! At minimum, you will discover a rich and deep state of relaxation that will energize you and transform your day. What a wonderful start to the new year!
Dress comfortably in layers. You may bring a pillow from home (optional).
